Alley of the sports glory in Luzhniki

Alley of the sports glory in LuzhnikiOn the territory of the Olympic complex Luzhniki you can find a beautiful alley of the sports glory. It stretches from the right entrance to the complex till the embankment of Moscow River. At the entrance you will find a bowl of the Olympic flame of the XXII Summer Olympic games in Moscow. Next to the bowl there is a monument to the Olympic bear, symbol of these games.

Further on the alley you will find a monument to the football forward of the football club Torpedo Eduard Streltsov. In the center of the alley there is a foundation stone of the monument to the one of the greatest ice hockey forward Valeri Kharlamov. Also there is a memorial plaques in the setts of the alley.

At the end of the alley next to the embankment of Moscow River you will find two monuments to the founder of the football club Spartak Nikolai Starostin and to legendary goalkeeper Lev Yashin. And finally on the embankment of Moscow River you will find small and beautiful chapel.

Creation history

Alley of the sports glory in LuzhnikiThe alley was built in the park around the Luzhniki stadium and in different times there were established monuments to the Great Russian sportsmen and bright event XXII Olympic Games in Moscow.

How to find

Go to metro station Sportivnaya (Sports station) and exit to the Street Hamovnichesky Val. Cross the Street Hamovnichesky Val toward the Olympic complex Luzhniki. At the entrance turn right on the Novoluzhneckiy proezd (NewLuzhniki street) and go till the crossroad with Luzhneckiy proezd (Luzhniki street). Here go to the sport complex Luzhniki on the alley of the sports glory.
