Description

Monument to Eduard Streltsov - LuzhnikiA monument to the great footballer and the Olympic champion of 1956 Eduard Streltsov it is a full size bronze sculpture of the sportsman. Sculptor shows us Eduard Streltsov in the moment when he is doing a dodge from the full-back and to hit the ball to the goal. In front of the monument there is a stone with the memorial inscription: “Eduard Anatolyevich Streltsov”.

Creation history

The monument to Eduard Streltsov was made by the sculptor Alexander Rukavishnikov in 1998 and was established on the alley of the sports glory in Luzhniki.

How to find

Go to metro station Sportivnaya (Sports station) and exit to the Street Hamovnichesky Val. Cross the Street Hamovnichesky Val toward the Olympic complex Luzhniki. At the entrance turn right on the Novoluzhneckiy proezd (NewLuzhniki street) and go till the crossroad with Luzhneckiy proezd (Luzhniki street). Here go to the sport complex Luzhniki on the alley of the sports glory. Almost in the center of the alley from the right side you will find the monument to Eduard Streltsov.
