Monument to Lev Yashin in Luzhniki

Description
The monument to the great goalkeeper of Soviet Union Lev Yashin it is a sculpture of the sportsman in full size which shows us a goalkeeper who is preparing for the pass from the goalposts. He is going to the border of the goalkeeper zone and is trying to search the best variant for the pass the ball.
Next to his legs there is a memorial plate with his name. In front of the monument there is a stone with the memorial inscription: “Lev Ivanovich Yashin”.
Creation history
The monument to the great goalkeeper of XX century was made by the sculptor Alexander Rukavishnikov in 1997 and was established on the alley of the sports glory in Luzhniki.
How to find
Go to metro station Sportivnaya (Sports station) and exit to the Street Hamovnichesky Val. Cross the Street Hamovnichesky Val toward the Olympic complex Luzhniki. At the entrance turn right on the Novoluzhneckiy proezd (NewLuzhniki street) and go till the crossroad with Luzhneckiy proezd (Luzhniki street). Here go to the sport complex Luzhniki on the alley of the sports glory. Along the alley go till the embankment of Moscow River where on the left side from you, you will find the monument to Lev Yashin.
