The Georgian gardenIt is small and quiet but very cozy garden on the north-west side of Moscow. Here you can walk under the trees and find interesting things. Garden is very interesting for the adults and children. For the children there is a playground in the Georgian garden.

Also here you can find a monument to Georgian writer of the 12th century Shota Rustaveli. Around the monument there are benches where you can sit and read the poems of Shota Rustaveli. Here on the Georgian square next to the garden you can find interesting museum creative workshop of sculptor Zurab Tsereteli.

Creation history

Georgian garden was established in 1898 in honor of strong friendship between Russia and Georgia. A place for the garden was chosen because here in 1725 lived king Vakhtang VI when he came in Russia to ask protection from Turkish and Persian aggressors who attacked Georgia.

How to find

Go to metro station Barrikadnaya and exit to the Krasnaya Presnya Street to the Zoo. On the crossroad with Big Georgia Street turn right. On this Street go to the Georgian Square here next to the Museum creative workshop of sculptor Zurab Tsereteli you will find the Georgian garden.
