So from this fountain and starts the route of the walk from the State Tretyakov Gallery to the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. The square with fountain is placed on the crossroad of the Lavryshunsky lane and Big Tolmachevsky lane. The fountain of Arts or Tverskoy fountain was established in spring 2006 in the 150 birthday of the State Tretyakov Gallery.
Go pass the State Tretyakov Gallery on the Lavryshunsky lane to the Lygkov’s bridge on the bank of water canal. The Lygkov’s bridge more popular as bridge Lovers. There are trees where lover hang locks as symbol of long and lasting love. Also there is a bench reconciliation next to the bridge. If you quarreled with your half just come together and sit a few minutes and everything will be Okay. Also this bench is popular with newlyweds.
Go on the bridge to another side of canal. Here is a monument to Russian painter Iliya Repin. Behind the monument begins the Bolotnaya ploshchad (Swamp Square). It’s popular place with young people. If you turn right and go the end of square there you will see a group of sculptures by Mikhail Chemiakin “Children are the Victims of Adult Vices”. This group contained 15 sculptures. On the another side of the Bolotnaya ploshchad (Swamp Square) there is fountain of Repin. The fountain was established in 1948. Main fountain bowl was cast from the guns of Germany army.
Go on the bridge to another side of canal and turn right. Go to the next bridge over the canal and in third time cross the canal. The bridge is big and beautiful. From the bridge you can see the monument to Russian Emperor Peter the Great. The monument was created by Russian sculptor Zurab Tsereteli. Also you can see the factory of chocolate. After the bridge there is the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. This is final point of walk. From the right side of Cathedral there is metro station Kropotkinskaya.
