Sculpture “Worker”

Description
The sculpture “Worker” it is a sculpture of the worker of beginning of the XX century which was made in full height. He is dressed in simple working clothes: Simple pants, shirt with sleeves rolled up, apron and cap. He is standing and carefully studying a detail which he is holding by the left hand. At his legs there are other details.
The sculpture was made from the concrete and was placed on the simple rectangular pedestal. There is bronze plate on the pedestal with memorial inscription: “The sculpture “Worker”. Made by the sculptor N. A. Andreev. / 1925 /”. Behind the monument there is an honours board of Taganka district.
Creation history
The sculpture was established in 1925 during the accomplishment of the square at the crossroad of Vorontsovskaya and Abelmanovskaya Streets.
How to find
Go to metro station Proletarskaya and exit to Krestyanskaya Zastava Square. Cross the Abelmanovskaya Street to the entrance to the small square where you will find the sculpture “Worker”.
