Description
The rocket Vostok 1 “East 1” is most famous and well known transport in the world of XX century. This rocket is a door what had opened the way to the future and to the new worlds. Today in the All-Russia Exhibition Centre in Moscow you can see this diamond of the scientific technology and feel the power what is hiding inside of the rocket and has delivered the human to the mysterious space.
Till 1985 the model rocket was dynamic exhibit it could take a horizontal position on the special transporting goods truck, in this position the rocket is delivered to the spaceport and vertical position, the rocket ready to launch. Now the rocket is in vertical position and doesn’t move anymore.
Creation history
The model of the first rocket in the world what has delivered the human to the space was established in the All-Russia Exhibition Centre in Moscow in front of the new exhibition hall “Space” in 1969 in honor of the first human spaceflight. The full size model of the rocket was made in Rocket and Space Center in Samara city. During the reconstruction in 1985 the model was changed on the new one. This fact was discovered in 2010 during the restoration.
How to find
Go to metro station VDNH and exit forward 1st Cross Travel Street. Turn left and go ahead to the Longitudinal Travel Street where the main entrance to the All-Russia Exhibition Centre is. In the exhibition center go straight deep in to the center. Pass the main exhibition hall, Fountain "Friendship of Nations", the stone flower fountain and after the exhibition hall “Ukraine” on the big square next to the exhibition hall ¹32 (old name Space) you will see the first rocket in the world what had delivered the human to the space.
