Description
The monument “Worker and Kolkhoz Woman” is twenty-five meters I height and is made from steel. The monument is placed on the big pedestal 33 meters in height what is a museum. The sculptures of the man and woman which are standing side by side and holding the hammer and the sickle are the symbol the development and the authority of the working class of the Soviet Union.
Creation history
The monument was made as the element of the exhibition pavilion of the Soviet Union on the world exhibition in Paris. After the exhibition, the monument was moved back to Moscow and placed in front of the entrance to VDNKh. In 2003 the monument was sent to the restoration on 6 years.
How to find
Go to the metro station VDNKh where you should exit and take the Moscow monorail and go to the station Ulitsa Sergeya Eyzenshteyna and there next to the station you will see the monument “Worker and Kolkhoz Woman”.
