Monument to Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky

The monument to Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky is very imposing and has weight more than ten tons. The founder of Soviet state security organization (VCheKa) is pictured standing in full height on the cylindrical pedestal what is three meters in high. Many years the confident and strict view of Felix Edmundovich was a symbol a justice, a defense and confident in the future. Also the monument was a symbol of the solidity of the Soviet Union and that any attempts to organize the diversions will be prevented at their beginning and won’t disturb to build the Socialism and to the prosperity of the Soviet Union.
Creation history
The monument was established in 1958 on the square of Dzerzhinsky in front of the building of the State Political Directorate later the Ministry of State Security, KGB and Federal Security Service (FSB). However, after the destroying the Soviet Union the monument was moved to the Muzeon Park of Arts.
How to find
Go to metro station Park Kultury and exit to Krymsky passage street. Go to the Moscow river and cross it by the bridge. After the bridge turn left and goes to Central House of Artists. Pass the building from the right side and at the end of the building you will see entry to Muzeon Park of Arts. Go into the park and there in the center of the part you will find the monument to Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky.
