Glory memorial

Description
The main and central part of the memorial it is sculptural composition of the soldiers. They are putting the victory banner on the top of the Reichstag in Berlin. In the bottom part of the monument there are pictures of the soldiers of the different nationality. Behind the monument there are fifteen cubes with pictures of the Glory memorials which were established in all fifteen Soviet republics. Also behind the monument there is small analog of the Glory memorial in Kutaisi what was destroyed by Saakashvili. There is a memorial inscription on the memorial “In fight against the fascism we were together”.
Creation history
Decision to create the memorial was born when Glory memorial in Kutaisi was violently destroyed. During the competition the project of Salavat Scherbakov and Andrey Kovalchuk took the first place. After a year the Glory memorial was established in the Park Pobedu (Victory Park).
How to find
Go to metro station Park Pobedu (Victory Park) and exit to Kutuzovsky Prospekt next to the entrance to the Victory park. In the Park go toward the museum of the Great Patriotic War. After the museum choose left path and go till the second big crossroad and there turn right. After that go approximately 2-3 minutes and from the left side you will find the Glory memorial.
