Description
Classical Greek epos about how the god of sky Zeus is abducting Phoenician princess Europa is very popular all over the world already thousands years. This epos inspires the million people to create the works of art like pictures, poems, books, monuments and fountains. One of the beautiful fountains you can find in the town Krasnoyarsk. The fountain it is big bronze sculptural composition in the center of the three-tier fountain.
Naked beauty Europa with the funny plaits is sitting on the withers of the mighty bull Zeus who is carrying her to the island Crete. The fountain consists of six baths where the streams of water are pouring and looks like a raging sea where Zeus is carrying his mistress.
Creation history
The fountain was made by the team of sculptors under auspices of Alexander Tkachuk and in 2003 was established on the Predmostnaya square (bridgehead square) in the town Krasnoyarsk next to the river Yenisei. Immediately the fountain became very popular place in the town.
How to find
By the buses 191, 194, 1, 2, 3, 13 or by the trams 4, 6 go to the bus stop Predmostnaya square (bridgehead square). When you will go out from the bus you will be in front of the Predmostnaya square (bridgehead square) where in the center you will see this beautiful fountain – The Abduction of Europa.
