During the long time of existence of a small homestead to the north of Moscow it has had many different and famous owners as Golovin and Golitsyn families. The homestead was built near a pond, from the main entrance leads a causeway and ended by stairs to the pond. On right and left sides of the stairs there are two sculptures of griffins.
Besides a main in pseudo-gothic style building, was saved big and beautiful park. In the park you can find the old summerhouses and the small ponds. Also on the territory of the park you can find a stable yard, a kennel and coachhouse. There is an old bridge through the pond. There is an island in the center of the pond. In the summer time you can rent a boat and sail to the island. Also you can find small monument to favorite dog "Sultan" of the countess Panina.
Recently the homestead Marfino become popular place for shoot films. Here were shooted episodes of films The Master and Margarita and The Best movie.
Creation history
The homestead was built in 1585 and belonged to the Golovin's family. Nowadays it is a military health resort.
How to find
From the train station Katuar by bus (37, 73) drive till the bus stop health resort Marfino. Go to the bridge through the pond and cross the pond then go along the street till the entrance to military health resort and you in the Marfino homestead.
