Description
The border guard and his four-legged friend are depicted in bronze. Two faithful comrades are on the action station. The border guard sat down and held his hand on the back of dog. They are sitting and watching into the dark where enemy could pass the state border.
Greation history
This and another 75 sculptures were established in 1938 project by Matvey Manizer for a new metro station Ploshchad Revolyutsii. A nose of dog became a symbol of luck for students. Later in the park of the 850th anniversary of Moscow was established the monument to Student's signs. However when many people pass by this sculpture they touch the nose of dog for good luck. In the case the nose will shine for a long time.
Tradition
After the opening of the metro station Ploshchad Revolyutsii the dog’s nose was polished to shine. It was the tradition of students, day before the exam you should touch the nose of this dog and you will definitely passed the exam. This tradition become very popular and people started touch the nose just for luck.
