Monument to Kliment Timiryazev

Description
The monument to Russian scientist naturalist and founder of the Russian school of plant physiologists on the Tverskoy Boulevard was created from the stone. The sculpture of the scientist is made in the full height. He is dressed in a mantle of Doctor of Science. The monument is set on the big rectangular pedestal. On the pedestal there is a inscription “To K.A. Timiryazev. To the Fighter and thinker”.
Creation history
The monument was established in 1923 on the crossroad of the Big Nikitskaya Street and the Tverskoy Boulevard. During the Great Patriotic War the monument was damaged by the explosion of the Nazi bomb.
How to find
Go to metro station Arbatskaya and exit to the Nikitsky Boulevard. Cross the Vozdvizhenka Street to the Nikitsky Boulevard. Go on the boulevard to the crossroad with Big Nikitskaya Street. Here at the beginning of the Tverskoy Boulevard you will see the monument to Russian scientist Kliment Timiryazev.
