The foremost Russian painter Vasily Surikov is depicted standing in full view next to his easel. It seems like he is standing next to his easel and close study of the landscape what he going to draw.
The monument is made from bronze and is placed on the marble, rectangular pedestal. On the pedestal there is a memorial inscription “To Vasily Surikov”.
Creation history
The monument was established in 2003 in front of the building of Russian academy of arts, where studied Vasiliy Surikov. The monument was creating during 5 years by the sculptor Pereyaslavets M.V..
How to find
Go to metro station Kropotkinskaya and exit to the Prechistenskiy vorota (Prechistenskiy gates) square. Cross the Gogolevskey boulevard to the Prechistenskaya Street. Go on this street to the building of Russian academy of arts (Prechistenskaya Street b. 21). Here you will find the monument to Vasiliy Surikov.
