Description
The monument to the famous Russian composer Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov was made from the bronze. Nikolai Andreyevich is sitting on a chair and is reading a newspaper. The sculpture is placed on the granite, rectangular pedestal. There is a memorial inscription on the pedestal “To Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov 1844 - 1908”.
Creation history
The monument was established in 1952 in Saint Petersburg next to the Saint Petersburg Conservatory where he worked around forty years.
How to find
Go to metro station Sadovaya (Gardening) and exit to the Sennaya Square. Go to the Sennoy bridge and cross the canal Griboedova and turn left. Go along the canal till the crossroad with the Theatre square and turn right. Go till the N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory (Theatre square bld. 3). Turn right and go till the Mariinsky Theatre (Theatre square bld. 1). Here in the square you will see the monument to great composer Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov.
