Description

Monument to Alexander PushkinThere is a bronze bench on the pedestal from the granite. The famous poet of Russia Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin is sitting on the bench. Maybe he is sitting and thinking about his new poem. The monument is the central element of the Lyceum square next to the lyceum where Alexander Pushkin studied.

Creation history

An Idea was born in 1860 and should was established in the 50th anniversary of the Lyceum however there wasn’t enough money because Alexander II decided give money for monument to Pushkin in Moscow. In 1900 in the 100th anniversary of the birthday of the poet the monument was established in the Lyceum square.

How to find

From the train station Detskoe selo (Children's village) on the Shurokaya street (Wide street) go till the October boulevard. Turn right and on this boulevard go till the crossroad with Greenhouse street and turn left. Go till the crossroad with the Middle street here turn right and on this street go till the Lyceum square. Here in the square you will find the monument to Alexander Pushkin.
