Description

The monument to Ivan KrylovThe monument to the famous Russian poet and writer of the fables Ivan Krylov it isn’t simple monument but a sculptural ensemble. The main part of the ensemble of course it is the monument to the writer. He is sitting and looking on his heroes of fables.

On a pedestal there is a memorial inscription “Ivan Andreevich Krylov”. On the right side of the monument there are big open books there. On their pages you can see the heroes of fables: “The Fox and the Crow”, “The Wolf and the Lamb”, “The Elephant and the lap-dogs” and etc. which were written by Ivan Andreevich.

The monument was established in 1976 next to the Patriarch Ponds the project by the sculptors A.A. Drevin, D.Y. Mitlyansky and the architect A.G. Chaltykyan.
