Obelisk of Minin and Pozharsky

Description
High granite obelisk in honor of Russian heroes Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky from the all sides is decorated with golden bas-reliefs with pictures of Minin and Pozharsky. Over the bas-reliefs there are memorial inscriptions: “To prince Pozharsky, a grateful posterity 1826”, “To citizen Minin a grateful posterity 1826”. This monument is oldest monument in Nizhny Novgorod.
Creation history
The monument was established in 1826 on the square in Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin in front of Archangel Cathedral. During the transporting the obelisk was broken but it was repaired very fast.
How to find
The obelisk you can find from the right side of Memorial eternal flame on the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin. By bus go to bus stop Square of Minin and Pozharsky (routs: 19, 40, 52, 58) and go into the Kremlin. Go pass the building ¹ 7 after the building ¹1 turn left and go to the square where you will find the obelisk to Minin and Pozharsky.
