Monument to the eagle on Baikal lake

Description
A monument to the eagle it is a sculpture of the eagle made from bronze. The weight of the sculpture is 4 tons. The sculpture is located on the octahedral column what is 7,5 meters in height. The eagle spread wings like it is soaring over the steppe. Under the pads of the eagle there are bells which rings on the wind what gives to the monument a mysticism and do from the monument a real totem of the shaman.
Creation history
The idea of the monument belongs to the mayor of Olkhonsky district Sergey Kopylov. The character of the eagle was chosen because during many centuries the steppe people esteems this majestic bird and it is a symbol Olkhon.
How to find
From the city Irkutsk you should go by car on the highway 25H-013 till the village Bayanday. Here turn right and go till the village Elance after this village go about 10 kilometers to the crossroad and there turn left toward the village Tonta. After 300 meters once again turn left and go straight about 200 meters till the monument to the eagle.
