Description

Monument to Maxim Gorky in Gorky ParkA monument to Maxim Gorky in the Gorky Park in Moscow it is a sculpture of the famous Russian writer of the end of XIX and XX centuries. The monument was made in full height and was placed on the simple pedestal from the stone.

Maxim Gorky is standing leaning on the cane. He closed the eyes and with inspiration is reading his new poems. In the left hand he is holding the notebook with the poems.

Creation history

The Gorky Park was named in honor of the writer in 1932 but the monument to Maxim Gorky was established in the Park just in 1974 next to the main square with fountain.

How to find

Go to the metro station Oktyabrskaya (Koltsevaya Line) and exit to the street Krimsky Val. Turn left and go along the street Krimsky Val toward the Moscow River. Next to the River from the left side you will see the main entrance to the Gorky Park. Go to the park and along the main alley go till the main fountain and there turn right on the small alley. After 20 meters from the main alley you will reach the monument to Maxim Gorky.
