Description
The monument to Heroic Komsomol it is a bronze sculpture of the young man with a bare torso and with a raincoat on the shoulders. On the head of the young man there is a Budenovka. He seems to climbs the stairs. He raised his right hand over his head and is calling the Komsomol members to the fight.
A sculpture is made in coarse style without details what is common for the architectural style of its epoch. But you can feel its energy and dynamics. To the monument leads wide stair. The monument is very good fits in the architectural ensemble to Komsomolskaya square.
Creation history
The monument was established in 1968 on the Komsomolskaya square in honor of the 50th anniversary of All-Union Leninist Young Communist League. Inside of the pedestal of the monument was hidden the capsule with a message to the Komsomol members of 2018.
How to find
Go to the metro station Kirovskiy zavod and exit to the avenue Stachek. When you will go out from the metro station turn left and go along the avenue Stachek toward the Komsomol square. When you will reach the Komsomol, square go around it from the left side and between the avenue Stachek and street Krasnoputilovskaya go to the square where in the center of it you will find the monument to Heroic Komsomol.
