Description
The monument to the revolutionary Nikolay Pavlovich Schmitt looks very simple. A big cube with the bas-relief on two facets. On the right side of the bas-relief there is a picture of Nikolay Schmitt with dates of his life. Then the bas-relief goes on another facet. On this part there is a memorial inscription “Schmitt Nikolay Pavlovich student – revolutionary, active participant the preparation of the December armed uprising in 1905 on the Presnensky District. On 13 February 1907 was killed by guards of the tzar in the Butyrka prison”.
Creation history
The monument was established in 1971 in the small square next to the crossroad between 1905 Street and Shmitovskiy proezd street.
How to find
Go to metro station Ulitsa 1905 Goda (1905 Street) and exit backward Krasnopresnenskaya Zastava Square. Cross Krasnaya Presnya street and go forward on the square till the crossroad between 1905 Street and Shmitovskiy proezd street. Here you will find this monument.
