Monument-stele “Oath of the prince Pozharsky” - Yaroslavl

Description
A monument-stele “Oath of the prince Pozharsky” it is a stele with arc shape and with the cross on the top. There is a mosaic of the picture “Oath of the prince Pozharsky” which was painted by the painter Vasily Igorevich Nesterenko. On the bottom part of the stele there is a plaque with memorial inscription: “Oath of the prince Pozharsky. V. Nesterenko”. Above the mosaic there is an image of the Coat of arms of Yaroslavl.
Creation history
The monument-stele was established in 2010 on the territory of the Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Yaroslavl in honor of the thousandth anniversary of Yaroslavl. The main idea of the monument became the picture of the famous Russian painter V.I. Nesterenko “Oath of the prince Pozharsky”. It was made because in 1612 within the few months Yaroslavl became a capital of Russia while Moscow was occupied by Polish interventionists.
How to find
By buses 4, 4A, 13, 16, 41, 41B, 72 or by trolleybus 72 go to the bus stop Bogoyavlenskaya (Epiphany Square) Square. From the bus stop turn left and go along the walls of the friary till the Pervomayskaya street. Here turn right and again go along the walls of the friary till the crossroad with the Kotorosl embankment. Here again turn right and go till the main entrance to the friary. When you will be on the territory of the friary go to the center past the bell-gable, the church of Yaroslavl wonders-workers Fedor, Davide and Konsctantin which shall be right of you and next to the Cathedral of Holy Transfiguration you will find the monument-stele oath of the prince Pozharsky.
