Description
A bust of the Russian playwright Alexander Nikolayevich Ostrovsky is placed on the high and rectangular pedestal from granite.
There is a memorial inscription on the pedestal – “Alexander Nikolayevich Ostrovsky 1823 - 1886”.
Creation history
The monument was made by the sculptor Motovilov G.I. and the architect Polyakov L.M. and was established in 1954 in the yard of the house-museum of the playwright where he was born.
How to find
Go to metro station Tretyakovskaya and exit to Klimentovskiy lane. On the street turn right and one minute go toward the Small Ordunka street. Here turn right and go till the house-museum of A.N. Ostrovsky (Small Ordunka street bld. 9/12) where in the museum yard you will find the monument to Alexander Nikolayevich Ostrovsky.
