Description
The Memorial plaque in honor of the employees of NKID of USSR it is a bronze bas-relief of the building where was People`s commissariat of foreign affairs (NKID) of USSR. There is scene like employees of NKID are taking the weapon and join to the People`s Militia for the protection of motherland from Nazi Germany aggressors on the bas-relief.
There are memorial inscriptions on the memorial plaque: “In honor of the employees of the People`s commissariat of foreign affairs of USSR who 5 July 1941 here joined to the People`s Militia to do not let the enemy go in Moscow”, “We will win” and the words from the song the Sacred War, “Arise, Great Country! Arise on mortal combat...”.
Creation history
The memorial plaque was established 10 February 2014 in Diplomatic Worker`s Day of Russian Federation. The plaque was placed on the wall of the building where was the People`s commissariat of foreign affairs of USSR on the Vorovsky square.
How to find
Go to metro station Lubyanka and exit to Lubyanka square at the building where was KGB. Along this building go till the Big Lubyanka Street and turn right. On the Big Lubyanka Street go till the square of Vorovsky. Here from the right side of the entrance to the yard of the building Kuznetsky Most Street bld. 21/5 on the wall you will find the memorial plaque in honor of the employees of NKID of USSR.
