Description
The Russian protected cruiser is a symbol of the Great October revolution in 1917. A shot of the gun from Aurora was a signal to the start of the assault of the Winter Palace. Also cruiser is famous participation in the battles in the Russo-Japanese War in 1905.
Creation history
The Cruiser Aurora was launched in 1900. The Emperor Nicholas has participated in the solemn ceremony. In 1948 cruiser was permanently anchored on the Neva in Saint Petersburg and started second life as museum.
How to find
Go to metro station Gorkovskaya (Gorky) and exit to the Alexander Park. Go to the Kamennoostrovsky (Stone Island) avenue. On this avenue go till the Neva river (Trinity Square) and turn left. On the Peter's embankment go till the Nakhimov Naval School. In front of the shool you will see this beautiful cruiser Aurora.
