Description
The monument to the frontier guards of the motherland it is granite quadrangular obelisk with wide foundation. There are bronze bas-reliefs on the foundation with the pictures of the scenes of the service of the frontier guards of different epochs. On the top of the obelisk there is a golden double-headed eagle with a shield on the chest with image of the Saint George who is killing the serpent.
Creation history
The monument was established in 1997 in the small square on the square Yauza Gate where the Boulevard ring ends.
Tradition
Every year in the day of the frontier guard to the obelisk people brings the flowers in honor of killed frontier guards.
How to find
Go to the metro station Kitay-gorod of the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line and exit to Street Varvarka. On the crossroad between streets Lubyansky passage and Solyansky passage turn on Solyansky passage. On this street go till the crossroad with Solyanka street and turn on this street and go till the square Yauza Gate. While you will walk on the Street Solyanka on the crossroad with Podkolokolny lane you can find the monument - in commemoration of the victims of the tragedy in Beslan.
