The monument to literary heroes Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson stands close to the British embassy. Doctor Watson is sitting on the bench and making the notes. Notes about investigation of the crime which has been solved by Sherlock. Sherlock is standing and telling his small secrets which helped him find the criminal. Heroes Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson wonderfully are similar to actors Vasily Livanov and Vitaly Solomina favorite by all.
Creation history
Idea of the monuments and place where it is standing isn't casual. British people recognized of actor Vasily Livanov as the best actor who played Sherlock Holms. And monument was placed next to British embassy on the Smolenskaya quay.
Traditions
At opening of the monument by Vasily Livanov the legend was born. If you will sit down on the bench and touch the notebook which holds Doctor Watson then all problems will disappear. And if touch the pipe of Sherlock that problems will increase.
How to find
Go to metro station Smolenskay(line 4 - light blue). Exit and turn right to 2nd Nikoloshcheposvky lane, and go forward till 1st Smolensk lane, turn right and go forward till the Flowing lane. There turn left and go forward till Smolensk quay. At the crossroads of the Flowing lane and Smolensk quay there is a British embassy at which is standing the monument to Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson. 618 meters (7 minutes on foot).
