Description
A monument to the Russian intelligentsia it is a sculpture of Pegasus a symbol of the art. Pegasus is soaring through the sky. The Pegasus is pierced by the arrows of the barriers which occurred on the way of the creative person.
Creation history
From the beginning the monument had had to be different. It had to be the same Pegasus is pierced by the arrows but the sculpture had to be surrounded by the sculptures of the famous representatives of Russian intelligentsia: Nikolay Gumilyov, Boris Pasternak, Alexander Mandelstam and others. But director of the museum of Sakharov next to what was planned the establishing the monument was against of this project. He said the intelligentsia is not dead. It still a live and will live in the future. So, we should not bury it. Thus, was decided to modify the monument. And finally, was established the last version of the monument.
Как добраться
Go to metro Chkalovskaya exit to street Zemlyanoy val (Earth bank street). Go on it forward till building № 5. There is close to river Yauza you will see the monument to the Russian intelligentsia next to museum of Saharov and monument to the Berlin wall.540 м.
