The monument to the famous Russian writer shows us a figure of Fyodor Dostoyevsky who is sitting in the armchair. Under the bronze sculpture there is a big granite pedestal. The monument is located in front of the Russian State Library.
Creation history
The monument was established in front of the Russian State Library in honor of 175th anniversary of birthday of the writer. The place for the monument was chosen because Fyodor Dostoyevsky very often visited of the library of the Moscow public and Rumyantsev Museums. And till the nowadays in the Russian State Library there are Manuscripts of his great novels.
Traditions
The monument to Fyodor Dostoyevsky is very popular among the young people. Every year this monument becomes a start point for the Flash mobs like Dream flash and free hugs.
How to find
Go to metro station Biblioteka Imeni Lenina and exit on the Vozdvizhenka Street. When you will exit you will see the monument to the great Russian writer Fyodor Dostoyevsky in front of the Russian State Library. Vozdvizhenka Street bld. 3/5.
