Very interesting The Timiryazev State Museum of Biology. In the collection of museum there is near 80 000 exhibits from wild life of Earth.
There is a collection of different birds from usual crows and pigeons and ending the exotic parrots and penguins. Also you can see many exhibits of foxes, hares, wolfs, bears and elks. There is a big collection of the fish, insects.
The halls of the museum are decorated interesting and invitingly. The exhibits are very well described. They are divided by groups and are organized like a scene from real wild life.
Also in the museum you will find the exhibits of dinosaurs and animals what lived in ancient times. It’s decorated like Landscape model life of dinosaurs.
Creation history
The museum was founded in 1922 based on the collection of the Moscow State University of Shanyavsky and museum of Wildlife. In 1934 the museum moved to the building where was the Museum of Russian antiquities of Shchukin.
How to find
Go to metro Krasnopresnenskaya and exit to Krasnaya Presnya Street. Go to another side of the Street and turn left. Go to the crossroad with Small Georgian Street and turn on this Street. Go to the building 15, here is The Timiryazev State Museum of Biology.
